Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival

Welcome to the October 14th edition of the Charlotte Mason Blog Carnival. There were only a small handful of entries this time around... but all are delightful to read. I picked up several ideas and inspirations for activities, I am certain you will as well.

Literature & Poetry
Keri at Sunny Homeschool describes her families recent discovery of poetry, in Poetry.

Lindafay at Higher Up and Further In shares a few tips on how to improve our child's comprehension and interest in read alouds in her post, How Is Your Read Aloud Voice?

Science & Nature Study

Cindy from On Our Journey Westward describes an activity that is not only spontaneous and fun, but also very educational. She her post titled, Take a Walk in Your Socks??

Barb from Handbook of Nature Study responds to her own weekly outdoor challenge with her post, Land of the Oaks and Pines. If you haven't yet joined in... check out her post, read a few earlier posts, and join in. It is great fun and rewarding for everyone!

Kris from Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers and her family are just getting started with Nature Study themselves. She writes of her family's second nature study in her post titled, Outdoor Hour Nature Challenge: Week 2.

Kris from At Home Science shares a finished project her boys recently completed in her post, Finished Classification Project.

History Geography & Heritage
My SIL just started homeschooling this past summer. She is still finding her niche and only started blogging a week ago. However, I felt her post, Summer Schedule, was the perfect example of how Charlotte would have wanted children to learn geography.

Art & Music Study

Mama Squirrel from Dewey's Treehouse shares a few of the resources she has discovered as she plans a unit on Canadian artist, Cornelius Krighoff. If you aren't familiar with his work, be sure to check out her post Picture Study: Cornelius Krieghoff.

Reflecting / Planning / Other
Autumn has always been my favorite season. Barb from Harmony Art Mom reflects up the changing season in her post Time of Change and Rejuvenation.

Kathy L. from Piney Woods Homeschool reflects on what is expected from young learners in her post, A Formidable List of Attainments...

Thanks for hosting! I can't wait to have a chance to read all of the entries. I've got the info updated on the blog carnival site, and I've sent out a reminder to all the cm carnival mailing list. :-)
